Scholarships

Scholarship Criteria / Strive for Excellence Scholarships - Scholarships are offered in a variety of areas and candidates are asked to nominate and provide details of the main area in which they excel via the Hills Grammar Scholarship Application form together with the submission of a five-minute video that supports their suitability for a Scholarship in their area/areas of excellence. Applicants must also provide the name and contact details of at least one referee who can attest to their abilities and experience in their chosen area of excellence. The Student's school teacher is not suitable to act as a referee. For Music scholarship candidates, at least one referee should be their current Music tutor.

Accommodation

Accommodation and Welfare Arrangements - As a condition of being granted a student visa to study in Australia, The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) requires all students under 18 years of age to have adequate accommodation and welfare arrangements in place for the length of their student visa or until they turn 18 years of age.

Living with Parents, Legal Custodians or Relatives approved by the DIBP - Primary School students (Years 1-6) must live with a parent or a suitable relative. Secondary high school students (Years 7 to 12) may live with a parent or DIBP-approved relative.

Living with a Parent-nominated Homestay - Parents of students who are enrolling for Years 7 to 12 may nominate for their child to live with close family friends or distant relatives. Hills Grammar requires parent-nominated homestay carers to be responsible for the student's welfare and supervision outside school hours. Hills Grammar requires that students over 18 year of age to remain in homestay accommodation or continue to reside with their relatives until they complete high school.

Living in a Homestay Arrangement Approved by the School - We can place students in Years 7 to 12 in approved homestay accommodation. Hills Grammar requires School-approved homestay carers to be responsible for the student's welfare and supervision outside school hours. Hills Grammar requires that students over 18 years of age to remain in homestay accommodation or continue to reside with their relatives until they complete high school.
